“The Best Camera” for iPhone

The Best Camera” is a cool little iPhone app developed by photographer Chase Jarvis based on the simple philosophy that “the best camera is the one you have with you.” Off the bat it has some nice pre-packaged effects reminiscent of that over-saturated lo-fi lomo look. The crown jewel on this app is the stacking feature, expanding the artistic possibilities by allowing you to rearrange the order in which effects are applied. Simple sharing functionality supports various social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, thebestcamera.com, and email. The only gripe is that it can lag a bit on navigation and when applying effects, and despite the numerous publishing features, Flickr is noticeably absent [Update: Flickr support has been added.] Dropbox incorporation would be a nice touch as well, but for $2.99 it’s a fun little tool.
